Greetings families,

March is next week. Attached is the Parent Engagement Calendar for March. Also included are the flyers for all events, workshops, and meetings.

It's survey time. Good or bad, we want to hear from you! You can fill out the survey online at www.nycschoolsruvey.org. Your family access code is a lower case "f" followed by your child's student ID number. This can be found on your child's report card. You may also complete the survey by logging into your NYCSA account. The deadline is April 1, 2026. The class with the most completed surveys will win a pizza party.

This month has a few Spirit Days, so please be sure to check the calendar so your children can participate. There is also a March Spirit Day flyer for your reference.

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 9am, there is a Family Workshop. The Topic is Managing Screen Time. Join us and learn about the negative effects of too much screen time and strategies to help your child find a balance. It will be in room 204, the family room.

Holi is on Wednesday, March 4, 2026. Holi is a Hindu Holiday celebrating the triumph of good over evil. It also marks the arrival of spring. We will be throwing colorful powders in the air, weather permitting, so make sure your child comes to school in clothing that you do not mind getting powder on. Please see the flyer. You may opt out if you do not wish for your child to participate. Only return the tear-off if you DO NOT want your child to participate.

Parent Teacher Conferences is on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Conferences are virtual by appointment. Your child's teacher will be contacting you through Google Classroom. March 5 is a half day and dismissal is promptly at 11am. Please see the flyer more information.

Friday, March 5 is another dress down day. It is Comfy Day. Sweats or lounge clothes can be worn. We will also have our Black History Month performance by our Journey Prep Performers. Only families of the performers are invited to see the performance.

We will have individual Parent and Me Craft Activity for Kindergarten. You will come and make a craft with your child. You may sign your child out from the library. Each day is a different class, and the schedule is as follows:
K-011 on Monday, March 9 from 1pm to 2pm in the library.
K-012 on Tuesday, March 10, from 1pm to 2pm in the library.
K-013 on Thursday, March 12, from 1pm to 2pm in the library.

The PA Snack and SOAR is on Friday, March 13. Send any money in a Ziplock to bag. They will be able to purchase items during lunch periods.

The PA for March is on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 8:30am in room 204. Later on the same day is the SLT meeting at 2:30pm. This is an open meeting, but you must let us know if you will be attending as an observer, not a participant. All are welcome to listen in on the School Leadership meeting.

The only day off in March is Friday, March 20 for Eid al-Fitr. School will resume on Monday, March 23. One class per grade with the highest attendance on Monday, March 23 will get a pizza party on Tuesday, March 24th.

The 7-7-7 Rule of parenting was designed to help transform your relationship with your children. Join us on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at 9 am in room 204 for a family workshop introducing you to the rule and how you can implement it in your life.

Our 3rd Chew and Chat session is at 12pm on Friday, March 27, 2026, in room 204. We hope you will join us for the experience of cooking fresh, healthy Asian dishes.

Our final workshop of the month is our Family Make and Take on Monday, March 30, 2026, at 2:30pm. We will once Asian have refreshments and a craft that you can make with your child and take home the same day. Last time we had a full house. Let’s see if we can top it!
